Just a few kilometers north of Lyon, the Dombes region and its thousand ponds offer visitors an unexpected landscape rich in birdlife. Come and contemplate them thanks to this observatory on the largest and most emblematic pond in the Dombes.
In addition to the local breeding birds present all year round (mallard, gadwall, coot, etc.), there are the summer migrants who arrive in spring, breed and return south in autumn (purple heron, little egret, oriole, etc.) and also the long-distance migrants (sandpiper, black stork, etc.) who breed in Germany and Scandinavia and stop here to rest and feed.
