Contemplate the ponds of the Dombes and learn to draw its iconic birds with the help of artist and illustrator Orianne Amiot. While strolling around the pond, Orianne will teach you how to “sketch on paper” a fish, a landscape, and the birds you can observe with our binoculars. No need to be good at drawing, just start and follow the techniques taught by Orianne! You will leave with your sketches and the revelation of your artistic talents! This unique experience is open to everyone!
Another way to “dive” into the land of 1000 ponds and spend a morning in the heart of nature.

Learn Traditional Pottery

in the heart of the Dombes

The Dombes at your fingertips

Express your creativity and learn the art of pottery in a special workshop organized by artist potter Marion Chantegret.
You will first discover the Dombes with Diane, our tour guide, who will introduce you to all the specificities of the region: its captivating history, its unique geology, as well as the surrounding fauna and flora. A great opportunity to learn while exploring!

You will then awaken your artistic spirit by creating ceramic objects such as plates, cups, bowls, or mini-vases. You will have the opportunity to embellish your works by incorporating imprints of the surrounding nature – leaves, stones, or animal footprints. Conclude the workshop by sculpting a small figure of an iconic animal of the ponds.

Finally, after firing and glazing by Marion, your clay artworks will be ready to be collected at the Tourist Office or at the Ici la Terre Workshop, ensuring their safe use in daily life. Postal delivery available upon request.

Workshop suitable for all levels, ideal up to 12 years old (children must be accompanied by an adult). Work clothes recommended or bring an apron.
