A night perched among the trees
We wanted to treat ourselves to an out-of-the-ordinary weekend getaway near Lyon. We eventually chose to spend a night in one of the forest cabins at Domaine de la Dombes!
As soon as we arrived at our cabin perched among the trees and surrounded by animal parks, we felt an overwhelming sense of calm and appreciated the serenity that reigns here.

After dropping off our belongings, what a surprise it was to see, at the foot of our lodgings, the Domaine’s first residents, the fallow deer! These harmless and very sociable animals made adorable neighbors and instantly added to the warm and friendly atmosphere of this place.
Being at one with nature is undoubtedly what we enjoyed most about our stay! To be able to switch off so completely and enjoy such silence is really something of a rarity these days.
A unique moment
We have to admit, the Domaine de la Dombes strikes the perfect balance. The unique view from our cabin and the tranquility that reigns here only enhance that sense of being at one with nature.
Thanks to this, added to the warm welcome from our hosts and their generous hospitality throughout our stay, it won’t be long before we return!
