5.5 km walk in Dombes

Easy and pleasant walking circuit for families, in Saint-Paul-de-Varax.

The starting point is at the cemetery parking lot.

Step 1

Join the D17 road and turn right. Follow it for about 400m. (Watch out for traffic!)
At the Mont-Jeangloux post, turn right towards Boisson. Follow this road to the hamlet of La Carronnière, then continue on the path that leads through the ponds.

Step 2

At the directional post, turn right and continue on this road. On the left is the Guillet pond which needs to be circled. Continue for about 500m.
At the intersection (Boisson post), turn right towards Pelet, Etang des Bourrelières. Cross the hamlet, continue on the dirt road, and cross the Vieux Jonc on a footbridge. Continue straight on the path and join a paved road.

Step 3

At the Etang des Bourrelières post, turn right towards Saint-Paul-de-Varax. Follow the road for about 400m, then take the dirt road on the right. Continue straight. At the Vieux Jonc post, continue straight. Cross the Vieux Jonc on the Roman bridge. At the Moulin Cailloux post, turn right onto the Véllières path, then left onto the Oliviers path and return to the cemetery.
